BCBG Shoes – Trends for Spring 2010
New years resolutions are running rampant right now and you’re probably in the midst of a new gym routine, but its also time to start thinking about whats happening for spring fashion. This article is a quick and to the point wrap up about what’s hot and what’s not for shoe trends in spring 2010.
Here to Stay:
1. Sky High Platforms: You might have bought them in the fall, so keep them handy for spring 2010. They’re a tad more toned down than the studded and buckled heels of the past seasons. They’re rich and beautiful, but also delicate, feminine and powerful.
2. Slouchy Boots: Along with the skinny jean, we’re keeping the slouchy boot around. Tall boots are sticking around too, no surprise there. You can’t go wrong with either as long as you buy something up to date. Gone are the days of the chunky boot.
3. The Tall Leather Riding Boot: Not just for the elite equestrian anymore, these look sophisticated and either casual or dressy depending on your outfit. Pick a simple high quality brand.
4. The strappy sandal is evolving once again. Now its with wider bands that wrap around the ankle and sometimes partially up the calf. It’s starting to look like a bootie with cut outs, sort of like the gladiator has grown a heel and bulked up a bit.
5. Suede pumps in rich colors are everywhere right now. Find the ones with the little platform in the front that blends right in to the rest of the shoe.
What’s On it’s Way OUT:
1. Sorry, but the cowboy boots are looking wonky these days. Ditch them and get some trendy boots that serve the same purpose.
2. The Chunky Heel Boot: Please just let these go to the chunky heel boot in the sky. They had their special time and now you need to move on to the newer more fashionable looks.
A Couple of Predictions:
1. The thigh high boots are going to get higher and more crazy seeming. We’ll get used to it though and boots will just end up attached to leggings like its the most normal thing in the world.
2. Since those crazy Alexander McQueen shoes got a lot of buzz, I bet we’ll start to see some more street accessible versions popping up over the next year or so.
3. Comfort: YES! It’s trending over the years and will continue. It started with Uggs and moved on to leggings, but we’ll also see it in the shoe world with comfortable wedges!
